on how to defend the Faith in a hostile world
June 18-22, 2007 - Laramie, WY

We're at it again! Proving that being a Christian does not mean having to put your brain on a shelf, the Concordia Institute for Christian Studies presents the 2007 Summer Intensive Course -- A Study in Christian Apologetics. Held once again in Laramie, WY at St. Andrews, this year we attack the question that gives Christians fits.
Christians often find themselves on the defensive when challenged about the truthfulness of their faith. How can Christians provide an adequate answer when their faith is challenged? How can the unbeliever see that there are more compelling reasons and evidences that support the truthfulness of the Christian faith than against it?
This course is designed for the thinking Christian who is looking for answers and strategies by which the Christian faith can be successfully defended in the face of the reasoned arguments of unbelief. If you are looking for real answers on these issues and for great discussions with like-minded Lutheran Christians, this is a course you simply cannot pass up! Join us!
The course this year is taught (as every year since 2000) by a seasoned, respected teacher in the church, the Director of the Concordia Institute for Christian Studies: Rev., Dr. Steven A. Hein.

As you can see, this is no survey course but rather will give you the meat of apologetics so that you may have confidence in your faith and in your God. As much enjoyment can be had in the study of the topic however, we'll have even more "after hours". Count on a trip to the Snowy Mountains (as displayed in the pictures on this page) and a BBQ at Veedawoo among other entertainments in the 'Ol Wild West town of Laramie. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the absolutely killer worship with Pr. Marchus Zill and Dr. Steven Hoffman on the orgran. Matins is held every morning before hitting the books to start us off right and is an integral part of a week of education, enjoyment, and enrichment.
So sign up now and get your readings out of the way early. The syllabus and required readings are sent out upon registration... did we mention there is an early bird discount? We guarantee great discussions with Lutherans from across the country (just ask anyone who's been to one of these before). We have traditionally stayed out in Centennial WY (about 30 minutes to the west at the foot of the Snowy Mountains) at the Old Corral and hopefully we can negotiate some discounts if we have a decently sized group -- so sign up now! Being a college town, Laramie does have a decent number of hotels though in past years rooms have been difficult to come by.
